Men's Ministry

"Building Each Other Up in Christ"

Only a few generations ago the statement "A man is only as good as his word" was the measure of a man's character. You may have met men like that in your lifetime that lived their lives by this code of ethics. A man would promise to pay you an agreed upon price for your services or buy your property. The agreement was consummated with a simple handshake. This was a binding agreement between two men of honor. There were no contracts needed, no one was required as a witness to hold the other accountable, his word was enough. Were times simpler then or were these men more reliable or honest?

Did the words "I do until death…" mean anything different than it does now? Are we more willing to tell another what we believe he or she wants to hear without considering the cost to fulfill the commitment?

Today, why is it so difficult to keep promises, vows, or commitments? We see a resurgence of men trying to reestablish their credibility through large organized Christian events. We, the men's ministry, come together to recommit ourselves before God to be better husbands, fathers, and friends.
